Norfolk Police says the collision on Buxton Road involved a cement lorry and a car

A woman in her 40s has died and another woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision.

A cement lorry and a car crashed on Buxton Road in Brampton, near Aylsham, Norfolk, on Monday and Norfolk Police was called to the incident at about 12:11 GMT.

A woman in her 40s, who was driving the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the lorry, a man in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A woman in her 70s, who was a passenger of the car, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where she remains.

The force said the driver of the lorry was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has been released under investigation.

The road was closed while investigations were carried out and reopened overnight, the force said.

Officers have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to contact the force.
