Wider changes have been delayed but new rules in part of the Market Place will come in

Changes to car parks in a Nottinghamshire town have been delayed due to technical problems.

Rushcliffe Borough Council agreed new tariffs for its Newgate Street and Needham Street car parks, in Bingham, in April.

The new rules would see free parking limited to two hours, with charges for any stays longer than that.

But issues with the programming of new ticket machines by the council's contractors will mean the current arrangements will stay in place until further notice.

The council said planned changes to the Market Place's parking bays would still come into effect on Tuesday.

These bays will be available only for stays of fewer than 30 minutes, with new signage being installed to reflect the changes.
