The death of a man at a holiday park in Dorset was not murder and did not involve a third party, police have said.

Two people were arrested after the man was pulled from a lake at Warmwell Holiday Park, Crossways, in June.

Dorset Police said the pair, who were initially held on suspicion of murder, would face no further action.

The force said it was continuing to carry out inquiries for the coroner.

The man, who was in his 70s and from Birmingham, was found in Heron Lake in the early hours of Sunday 23 June.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man and woman in their 50s, also from Birmingham, were arrested on suspicion of murder and released under investigation.

The woman was also held on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "After carrying out extensive enquiries, detectives are now satisfied there was no third-party involvement in the death and the man and woman have been released from under investigation.

"They will face no further police action."
