Two men arrested on suspicion of raping a teenage girl in Reading have been released on conditional bail.

The pair from the town, both 26, were held after the girl was attacked on Prince of Wales Avenue between Elm Park Road and Albany Road on 15 November.

Thames Valley Police said the girl was first approached by two men who tried to chat to her as she walked along Oxford Road near to Beresford Road shortly after 22:00 GMT.

The force said the two men arrested had been released while investigations continue.

The force added one of two boys described by police as Good Samaritans who stepped in and had an altercation on Prince of Wales Avenue with the men at about 22:25 had come forward. The other is still being urged to do so.

A woman who helped the girl has already come forward after a police appeal.
