Man cleared after two babies found dead in house

A man has been found not guilty of charges relating to the deaths of two babies who were found in a house in Bridgend.

Cardiff Crown Court heard that, following a review of the case, the Crown Prosecution Service would not be offering any evidence against 50-year-old Žilvinas Ledovskis, of Phoebe Road, Swansea.

Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke found him not guilty of two counts of concealing the birth of a child and two counts of preventing the lawful and decent burial of a body.

Police were called to the home where the bodies were found in Maes-y-Felin, Wildmill, on 26 November 2022.

Eglė Žilinskaitė, 31, of Crwys Road, Cardiff, previously pleaded guilty to two counts of concealing the birth of a child and two counts of preventing the lawful and decent burial of a body and will be sentenced at a later date.

The court heard that she was the former partner of Mr Ledovskis.

The two children, referred to as Baby A and Baby B in court, died some time between 1 January 2017 and 26 November 2022.
