Fire station to undergo 'complete rebuild'
- Published
A fire station in East Yorkshire is to undergo a "complete rebuild".
Humberside Fire and Rescue said Howden Fire Station will be rebuilt at its current site in Hull Road.
While work is taking place, crews will operate from a temporary fire station at Howden's Joinery.
Response times will be unaffected, managers said.
Area manager Jon Henderson said: "This rebuild isn’t just about a new building, it’s an investment in the future of our community.
"We’re looking forward to the day we can open the doors to a brand-new fire station that will better serve both our firefighters and everyone in Howden."
The existing station opened in 1964. The new station is expected to open in 2025.
