Police were deployed to reports of a large gathering after hundreds were seen blasting music in a park in Leicester.

Footage taken by residents living near Bede Park showed the extent of the crowds that gathered on Saturday evening.

Leicestershire Police said an officer was attacked when they intervened in a fight between a number of women.

A 19-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker, and was given a community resolution.

"Local officers will be carrying out patrols in the area to reassure local residents and if anyone has any concerns they are advised to get in touch."
