Woman seriously injured after being hit by car

A woman has suffered life-threatening injuries after she was hit by a car.

The incident happened when the woman, aged in her 50s, was crossing Millers Way, near to the junction of Culberson Lane, in Milton Keynes at 20:25 GMT on Saturday.

She was struck by a red Ford Edge and remains in hospital, according to Thames Valley Police.

A 50-year-old man, from Northampton, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving, and driving while over the prescribed drug limit. He remains in police custody.
