A boat has sunk and two vessels have been damaged in a fire at a marina.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze started in the marina at Kingswear at about 04:40 BST on Tuesday.

A spokesperson said four fire engines, the coastguard and lifeboat had been sent to the blaze that involved three wooden boats.

The two damaged vessels have been recovered by the harbour master, the service said. It added the cause of the fire was thought to be accidental.

Dart Harbour said its own team was also at the scene.

It added no-one was on board the vessels and the pollution impact on the River Dart was minimal.

It thanked the emergency services along with staff from accommodation provider Dart Haven for their quick response.
