Beach danger warning after 6ft hole dug in sand

Beachgoers have been warned of the dangers of digging giant holes in the sand after a 6ft (2m) deep hole was dug near a cafe.
Polzeath Beach Rangers warned anyone falling into the hole could have been seriously injured or suffocated.
They said they were "shocked" adults "stood by" for several hours as the pit was dug.
"Thankfully, the sand didn't dry out, and the walls stayed firm enough for long enough to prevent a collapse followed by crushing and/or suffocation of the little people," the group said on Facebook, external.
"The parents weren't thinking straight that day, they left without filling the pit in," they added.
"It's less than 10m from a licensed premises and hidden behind a merch trailer - an area that is cast into shadows from flood lighting after dark."
The rangers thanked a concerned passer-by who alerted them and filled the hole in.
