Two people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed during a festival.

Thames Valley Police is investigating after the man was attacked at the Reggae Land festival in the main arena at the National Bowl in Milton Keynes on Sunday night.

The victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition and two men, aged 29 and 31, both from Milton Keynes, have been arrested and remain in custody.

Det Insp Graeme Williams said it was believed it was a "targeted attack".

"We understand that this may cause concern to the community but we still believe that this was a targeted attack and there is no risk to festivalgoers or the wider public," he said.

"We have been working very closely with the event organisers and their security team and we are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident."

The arrested men have also been arrested on suspicion of public order offences and drug offences.

The victim remains in hospital but is now stable and recovering, the force said.
