Man arrested on suspicion of murder after woman dies

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a woman in Cardiff.

South Wales Police were called to South Morgan Place in Riverside at 07:37 BST on Thursday to reports of a seriously injured woman.

Paramedics also attended but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said a 37-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder, with officers not looking for anyone else in connection to the incident.

Det Supt Mark O'Shea, from South Wales Police, added: "Residents will notice an increased police presence in the area while we investigate. Anyone with information yet to speak to police is encouraged to get in touch."

The force added it was looking for information regarding a grey Ford Fiesta near South Morgan Place between 07:30 and 8:30.
