Police officer injured in bladed weapon arrest

A Kent Police officer has been injured while arresting a man reportedly acting in a threatening manner with two bladed weapons.

A Taser was used after officers spoke to the man outside a property in Worcester Close, Gravesend, at about 07:45 BST on Wednesday, police said.

A local 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon.

An officer's hand was cut during the arrest, and he later went to hospital for medical treatment, police added.

A police investigation is under way.
