Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in a high street.

St Gregory's RC Primary School in Farnworth, Bolton, had to cancel its sports day so an air ambulance could land to treat the victim of the knife attack in Market Street.

Greater Manchester Police were called at about 12:50 BST and found a man with "potentially life-threatening injuries", the force said.

No arrests have been made.
