Injured deer 'humanely' put down after closing road
- Published
An injured deer had to be put down after causing the partial closure of a major road in Devon on Thursday morning.
Police were called at around 06:35 BST, to a report of an injured animal on the side of the northbound carriageway of the A38 at Chudleigh.
Due to the seriousness of the injuries to the deer, an armed unit attended the scene to put the animal down humanely, Devon and Cornwall police said.
The road has since been reopened.
