The closure of a main route through Salford which was being put in place for regeneration work has been postponed.

Motorists were being warned of possible delays around Frederick Road in Salford for four weeks.

The city council said the £13.2m Salford Rise development project will better connect communities across the region and help unlock new development plots across the Innovation District near the University of Salford.

A spokesman for Salford City Council said new dates for the road's closure would be announced later.
