People's homes were evacuated on Thursday morning after suspicious items were discovered by police during a pre-planned warrant execution in Birmingham.
A cordon was put in place while the Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team worked to assess material at an address on Hastings Road in Erdington, West Midlands Police said.
The cordon was later lifted and residents returned to their properties, with EOD officers confirming there was no risk to the public.
Police said homes were evacuated as a precaution and thanked people for their patience during the operation.
