Housing plan submitted for former city pub

Plans have been submitted for six new houses to be built on the site of a former pub in Hull.
The Flower Pot Pub, on Staveley Road in Bilton Grange, closed in 2017 after serving locals for generations.
An application to demolish the pub and build the homes has been submitted to Hull City Council.
All the properties would have three bedrooms and a back garden, the application stated.
The proposal comes after a number of false dawns for the site.
In 2019, the council approved plans for the building to be converted into a convenience store with two flats above, but this never came to fruition.
In 2021, councillors rejected a planning application to build an extension to the property, creating six apartments and space for retail units on the ground floor, including two takeaways.
Concerns were raised about the proximity of the takeaways to a school.
Shortly after it closed, Humberside Police discovered a large cannabis-growing operation on the first floor of the building, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
