A former Hull pub could become part of a boutique hotel.

Corn Exchange on Lowgate closed in September 2023 after serving patrons for centuries.

The building was bought for an undisclosed fee by property developers Allenby Commercial.

If plans are approved by Hull City Council, the building and surrounding land would be used to add 11 rooms, a bar and foyer to the neighbouring Hideout Hotel.

The hotel currently has 15 rooms.

In documents, seen by the Local Democracy Reporting Service, Allenby Commercial said the plans would not have a detrimental impact on the existing property and would "complement the street scene”.

Previously, the company said it was "absolutely committed" to preserving the building, external.
