Viable devices have been removed following security alerts in Dromore, County Down and north Belfast, police have said.

Police received a report of a suspicious object at about 09:30 BST on Thursday in the Church Street area of Dromore.

Shortly before this, the police also received a report of a suspicious object in the Crumlin Road area of north Belfast at about 08:00 BST.

Ammunition Technical Officers (ATOs) were sent to both scenes, as well as one in Mill Road, Carryduff, on Thursday morning, where an object was taken away for further examination. The alerts have ended and cordons have been removed.

Police told BBC News NI that officers are "currently working to establish a motive and any possible link between other incidents".

In April, two viable pipe bombs were found and made safe during a security alert in the Church Street area of Dromore.
