Plans for a £20m road bridge in Lincoln have been approved.
The crossing will form part of the Western Growth Corridor which will see more than 3,000 homes and business units built on land off Skellingthorpe Road.
The money was secured from the government's Levelling Up Fund.
The project also includes plans for a new shopping centre, primary school and potentially a new football stadium for Lincoln City.
The new bridge crosses the East Midlands railway line and is a single carriageway road, approximately 667 yards (610m) in length.
There will be a cycleway and footway, both 6.5ft (2m) wide , along the eastbound carriageway.
There is also a 10ft (3m) wide shared route for cyclists and pedestrians heading westbound.
Work on the bridge is expected to be completed by March 2025.
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, work has also started on the first 52 homes as well as the construction of two electric substations and an access road.
City of Lincoln Council said the development would bring £500m of investment and hundreds of jobs to the city.
