Contract for Isle of Man TT live coverage extended

Greenlight will continue to broadcast TT+ through TT 2028

The current provider of television coverage for the Isle of Man TT races has had its contract extended for five years until 2028.

Greenlight Television has been responsible for live race coverage through the TT+ streaming service since 2022.

The service was rolled out as part of the the government's strategy to boost the event's profile and has contributed to a 260% rise in the TT audience on all platforms.

The firm's director Dave Beynon said working with the TT team on "new chapter" in the TT's history was "amazing".

'Transformed'

The live coverage forms a part of the TT Digital Broadcast Strategy launched in 2022, which also includes year-round access to features including access to exclusive interviews and features, including behind the scenes footage, extended race highlights, and over archive races.

Sarah Maltby MHK, who has responsibility for the TT and motorsport at the enterprise department, said having the local company Greenlight Television signed on for a further five years was "great news".

She added: "The live broadcast has transformed the way thousands of fans follow the TT, with the expert team at Greenlight managing to convey the natural emotion, tension and raw energy that can only be found at this event."

The 2024 Isle of Man TT races are set to run until 8 June.
