A post office in a service station is closing for five weeks as refurbishment takes place.

West End Post Office, at Westacre Services, Wilton Road, Salisbury, is closing from 20:00 GMT Monday and is expected to re-open at 08:00 GMT on 26 March.

The Post Office has said this is for "extensive building work" and have recommended two alternative branches in the city.

Antoinette Chitty, Post Office Area Change Manager, said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers during the work.

"The safety of our customers is of paramount, therefore, to allow for the building work to take place, it is necessary for the service to close temporarily."

The other nearby branches in Salisbury are Bemerton Heath Post Office, Pembroke Road and Churchill Way West Post Office, Churchill Way West.
