Man and woman arrested over city stabbing

A woman, 76, and a 54-year-old man have been held after a man was stabbed

A 76-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man have been arrested after a stabbing in Liverpool.
A man, aged 50, suffered arm and face injuries in Moscow Drive in the Old Swan area at about 11:10 BST, Merseyside Police said. He was taken to hospital.
Police said the male suspect, from Liverpool, had been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, and the woman had been held on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
Det Insp Neil Dillon said: "The use of knives has devastating consequences, not only for the victim and their family but also for the offenders involved."
He urged anyone with information or relevant footage to contact police.
