Detectives are investigating after a break-in at a Nottingham library.

Radford and Lenton library's office area was ransacked and one of its windows smashed at about 00:30 BST on Thursday, police said.

In a statement on Facebook, a spokesperson for the library in Lenton Boulevard said the clean-up and repairs would start once the investigations had finished.

The library will remain closed until further notice, they added.

Officers were called to the scene after an intruder alarm was activated, the force said.

It said it was unclear what was taken from the building.

Anyone with information about the break-in has been asked to come forward.
