GAA player denies hit-and-run crash charges

A County Antrim gaelic footballer has pleaded not guilty to injuring a woman by careless driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
A woman in her 30s was hit by a van on the Glenravel Road in Martinstown on 26 October 2024.
At Antrim Crown Court on Wednesday, Kavan Keenan, of Millfield in Ballymena, pleaded not guilty to a charge of causing grievous bodily injury by driving without due care and attention.
The 26-year-old defendant also pleaded not guilty to driving without insurance, failing to stop after an accident and failing to report an accident.
A trial date was set for 28 January 2026 and is expected to last three days.
Mr Keenan plays for the Antrim county team and All Saints Gaelic Athletic Club.
Last year he was named in the All Ireland Tailteann Cup Team of the year.
