Human skeletal remains have been discovered on land in Staffordshire, with the site cordoned off as police carry out an investigation.

Officers were called to land near Worlds End Road, Greensforge, at about 15:30 BST on Wednesday.

While the remains were yet to be identified, Staffordshire Police said it could confirm them to be that of a person.

The force said the area had been cordoned off and early inquiries were taking place to establish what had happened. Anyone with information was urged to contact police.
