Air show confirmed after 'generosity of islanders'
- Published
The "generosity of islanders" has saved this year's air display in Jersey, organisers have said.
In July, organisers of the Jersey International Air Display launched an appeal after the event was thousands of pounds short on funding.
Event organiser, Mike Higgins, said £30,700 had been donated to the event and additional corporate and private sponsorship secured, which meant the event could go ahead as planned.
The show is scheduled to take place on 12 September.
Mr Higgins thanked islanders and businesses for supporting the event.
He said: "We are eternally grateful for their support and can state categorically that this year’s air display would not be taking place without it.
"We always believed that the air display was part of Jersey’s DNA and the well wishes and financial support we have received proves how much it is loved and valued by islanders."
The aircraft due to appear at this year's Jersey International Air Display are:
Équipe de Voltige de l'Armée de l'Air (French Air Force Extra 330)
