A man has denied throwing eggs at a police station during protests following an incident at Manchester Airport.

The 24-year-old pleaded not guilty to violent disorder when he appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court.

He was remanded into custody and will attend a hearing at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court next month.

Disorder took place outside the police station in Rochdale on 25 July after an officer was filmed stamping on a man's head on 23 July. A police officer has been suspended as investigations continue into the incident.
