Man in his 30s dies following Ballyclare crash

A man in his 30s has died following a crash in County Antrim.

He was Stephen Carmichael from Ballyclare, police have said.

It happened on the Ballyrobert Road in Ballyclare at about 00:00 BST.

Insp Cherith Adair said ambulance and fire service personnel accompanied police at the single-vehicle crash, which involved a black Volkswagen.

Mr Carmichael died at the scene. The Ballyrobert Road had been closed for a time.

Police have appealed for anyone with information, or dashcam footage, to contact them.

It follows two earlier road deaths this weekend.

Jack Morrow, who was 17, died in a one-vehicle crash in Rathfriland, County Down.

It happened on the Banbridge Road at about 02:30 on Saturday.

On Friday evening, a man in his 60s died following a two-vehicle collision in Poyntzpass.
