Two teenage boys have been arrested after a man was stabbed outside a McDonald's in Surrey.

Emergency services responded to reports of a man who had been stabbed in the chest and stomach in Station Road, Redhill, on Tuesday.

Police said the victim remained in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Two 15-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with the assault and have been released on conditional bail.

Reigate and Banstead Borough Cdr Insp Jon Vale said the force was looking to speak to a third person in connection with the incident.

"We recognise the impact that this incident will have had within the local community, and would like to reassure residents that we are doing everything possible to identify and locate those involved, and ensure they are brought to justice,” he said.

“We have increased patrols in the area, and I would urge anyone with any concerns to talk to one of our officers.”
