Train derailment disruption to last for weeks
- Published
Rail services on the route where a train derailed last month are not expected to return to normal until late April.
A Northern train with four passengers and four staff members on board came off the tracks near Grange-over-Sands in Cumbria on 22 March.
No-one was injured, but work is continuing to restore services to the Furness Line.
Rail bosses have now said no trains are expected to resume on the route until 21 April.
The train was travelling at 56mph when it derailed after crossing over a section of unsupported track.
Northern have been running a replacement bus instead of a train between Lancaster and Barrow since the derailment, which is being looked into by the Rail Accident Investigations Branch.
