Office block evacuated as fire crews tackle blaze

Fire crews rescued two people from a lift in the building

Firefighters have been tackling a blaze on the sixth floor of an office block in St Helier.
Jersey Fire and Rescue Service said two people were rescued unharmed from a lift on the ground floor, after fire crews were called to the incident at The Esplanade.
The building was evacuated and 25 firefighters with an aerial ladder and a command support unit were sent to the scene.
The fire service said the cause of the fire was "as yet unknown" and an investigation would take place.
