Man, 59, who died in Glasgow crash named by police

A man who died following a crash in Glasgow has been named by police as Nigel Barclay, 59.

Police were called to the scene on Carntyne Road, Easterhouse, at about 12:35 on Wednesday following reports of a crash involving a green Vauxhall Insignia.

Mr Barclay was pronounced dead at the scene.

Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Sgt Chris Hoggans said: "Our thoughts are with Nigel's family and we are providing support to them as our inquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of this crash.

"We would appeal to anyone who was driving on Carntyne Road, Glasgow around the time of crash, who either witnessed it take place or who has any information that may assist.

"Any driver with dashcam footage is asked to please contact us, external as soon as possible."
