Plans to build two new drive-through sites on land close to the M1 and A52 are set to be given the green light.

An application for a Greggs and Starbucks to be built on Bostocks Lane, in Sandiacre, Derbyshire is earmarked for approval by Erewash Borough Council.

A previous application for a two-storey McDonald's restaurant at the site in 2014 was refused and a subsequent appeal by the firm dismissed, according to planning documents.

A decision on the latest plans as potential is set to be made on Wednesday.

If approved, both restaurants would be drive-through and dine-in with car parking provision.

They would be allowed to open from 06:00 to 11:00 daily, according to the plans.

Three lit-up totem signs would also be built on the edge of the development.

A "number of objections" against the proposal have been received, according to planning documents, including those expressing concerns about traffic and anti-social behaviour.

But National Highways, Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire Police say they have no objections to the plans.

In a report recommending the plans for approval, the council said the principle of development of the site was "accepted".
