The family of a man who died in a crash in Dorset have paid tribute to their "kind and thoughtful" loved one.
Police were called to reports of a collision in Boscombe involving a pedestrian and a grey Vauxhall Mokka at 08:00 BST on 1 May.
Officers confirmed it took place in Ashley Road near the junction with Windham Road and the pedestrian, Nick Crewe, 78, from Bournemouth died in hospital on 2 May.
Police arrested a woman in her 30s on suspicion of driving offences but she has since been released under investigation.
Mr Crewe's family said: “We are devastated to lose Nick in such a tragic way.
"He was taken too early and we are heartbroken. Despite being 78, he was working as a lawyer, took four dog walks a day and, just as always, was still doing things for others.
“Nick was a lifelong contributor to his local community. Over the decades, and alongside his wife, he helped at a local cubs group, ran a youth club, was a school governor and ran both youth and adult football clubs.
"He repeatedly changed people’s lives for the better.
“Throughout his life Nick was best known for being kind and thoughtful.
"His family and friends ask for the same consideration and request their privacy be respected at this time.”
Dorset police has asked for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
