Teenager charged over boy's crash death

A teenager has been charged after a 15-year-old boy died in a one-vehicle crash.

Conner Loder, 15, died at the scene of the crash, which happened at about 01:00 BST on 10 June on Stamfordham Road in Newcastle.

A boy, 16, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, disqualified driving and driving without insurance.

He is due to appear at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court later.

Five males, aged between 13 and 27, were previously arrested.

Northumbria Police said they remained on bail pending further inquiries.

Ch Insp Dean Hod, of Northumbria Police, said: "First and foremost, our thoughts remain with Conner’s family and loved ones following their tragic loss.

"We will continue to support them and offer any help we can."
