Death crash teenager was 'kind and loving boy'

The family of a 15-year-old who died in a car crash have paid tribute to their "kind and loving boy".

Connor Loder sustained fatal injuries while a passenger in a single vehicle crash on on Stamfordham Road in Newcastle, early on Monday.

His family said they were devastated by the death of the eldest of six siblings "who had time for everyone".

Boys, aged 14, 15 and three aged 16, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. A man, 27, on suspicion of assisting an offender.

In a statement, Connor's family said: “We’re a big family and we often spend a lot of time together outdoors – camping and going on long walks.

"This would be when he was at his happiest.

“It was a joy to watch him with his younger brother and sisters. He was very playful – and so funny!

“Such a big part has been taken from us... we miss him every single day.”

Northumbria Police appealed for anyone with information about the crash to get in touch.
