Two arrested after wheelie bins thrown at vehicles

Two teenagers have been arrested after wheelie bins were were thrown at vehicles from a bridge in Shropshire.

A car and a lorry were hit when the bins were thrown from Wombridge footbridge onto the A442 in Telford.

Two people in the car needed hospital treatment after being struck on Monday morning, West Mercia Police said, with the driver of the lorry unhurt in a second incident on Friday morning.

A 19-year-old man and 16-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of attempted GBH, a force spokesperson said.
