New Bergerac show will be great for Jersey - actor

A Jersey-born actor who plays a part in the new version of the TV show Bergerac says the island is "as much a key character" in the series as the other lead actors.
Tim Renouf from Jersey plays Julien Wakefield. He said the show was a "big part of Jersey's identity" and he thought it would be "great for the island".
The original BBC series aired from 1981 until 1991.
Damien Molony, is playing Jim Bergerac in the new series, and is best known for TV shows including Being Human, Ripper Street and Suspects.
'Modern, but darker'
Mr Renouf said: "People will be intrigued to come here, it's going to be great for the island.
"The way they've shot it, the cinematography. Jersey is as much a key character in this as the leads are.
"It plays such a lead character in this."
Producers began filming shots for the remake in locations across the island on 22 August and filmed in St Helier on 23 August.
Mr Renouf said: "It's been amazing seeing it [Jersey] afresh through other people's eyes. I think only a handful of the crew are actually from the island.
"People have loved it, they've been supportive, locals have been very interested."
Talking about the new series, he added: "It's going to have a different feel to it. It's going to be obviously modern, but darker.
"It's still going to have that glamour...but it's going to be grittier."
