A producer of the new version of TV show Bergerac said crews will be filming in Jersey for two weeks.
The original BBC series, located in Jersey and featuring John Nettles as detective Jim Bergerac, aired from 1981 to 1991.
Producers began filming shots for the remake in locations across the island on Thursday and were filming in St Helier on Friday.
Executive Producer Clare Alan said filming on the island would continue and last about 15 days.
"We want to see Jersey at its best and Jersey at its most dramatic; all of that has played into the locations that we have found. Jersey, the place, is a character within the series," she said.
She added that while filming will takes place in restaurants, historic buildings and on beaches, the majority of the interior shots are being filmed in the UK.
Actor Damien Molony is playing Jim Bergerac in the new series. He is best known for TV work including Being Human, Ripper Street and Suspects.
Tegan Parker, from Jersey, is a production apprentice on the show and said her mother was an extra in the original series.
"It's so nice to be on something that means so much to my family and the island," she said.
She added: "TV is always pressurised, early mornings, late nights, it's long days but I love it."
