A woman who was stabbed to death has been described as a "ray of sunshine" by those closest to her.
Angela Lloyd, 56, was found with fatal stab wounds at her home in Bakewell Place, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, on 13 August.
She had a love of Disney, her cats and knitting, and on occasions had crafted hats for a premature baby unit, a statement released by Durham Police said.
Patricia Hewitt, 41, from Stanley, is accused of her murder and is due to stand trial on 9 February.
The statement said Ms Lloyd was always in the "brightest of clothing and accessories, the brighter the better".

"Angela was very religious and tried to help others wherever she could, donating to charity," the statement added.
"[She] loved her cats dearly, spending time with them as much as she could, the youngest perched on her shoulder most days."
Ms Hewitt did not enter any pleas when she appeared at Teesside Crown Court on Tuesday and she was remanded in custody.
She is next due in court on 3 October.
