Out of the four bridges on Wherryman's Way, only two of them are suitable for repairs

Two bridges along a footpath that have been closed for nearly a decade are due to be repaired.

The bridges along Wherryman's Way, which travels through Hardley Flood near Loddon in Norfolk, were cordoned off in 2015 by the county council after they eroded and became unsafe.

Delays to the repairs are due to the bridges crossing a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

The Broads Authority planning committee gave the go-ahead for the first phase of work.

Out of the four bridges that existed on the footpath, only two of them are repairable.

Langley and Hardley Parish Council has sought to block some of the plans.

It worries that the reinstatement of the footpath would result in wildlife, which has settled in during the past decade, being disturbed.
