Thousands of pounds' worth of tools were stolen after eight vans were broken into, police said.

The thefts happened between Friday night and Saturday morning.

Lincolnshire Police had reports of incidents in Horncastle, Coningsby, Skegness and Willoughby.

Some vans had holes cut in to them, officers said.

The break-ins happened in:

  • Spilsby Road, Tennyson Gardens and Mareham Road in Horncastle

  • Orchard Way and Dogdyke Road, Coningsby

  • Count Alan Road, Skegness

  • Willoughby Road, Willoughby

Tools and equipment, thought to be related to the thefts, was found in Mareham Road, Horncastle.

Officers think a dark coloured estate vehicle may be connected to the thefts and are asking anyone who witnessed suspicious behaviour to contact them.
