Woman in 90s seriously injured in HGV crash

A female pedestrian in her 90s was hit by an HGV in Lea Road, Gainsborough

A woman in her 90s has been taken to hospital with "potentially life-threatening injuries" after being hit by an HGV, police have said.

The incident happened on Saturday morning on Lea Road in Gainsborough.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital by air ambulance and the road closed for several hours.

Lincolnshire Police said they expected the road to reopen by 19:00 BST and that no arrests have been made.

The force is appealing for anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the incident to come forward.
