A 16-year-old boy died in a crash involving an e-bike and two cars in Nottinghamshire, police have confirmed.

Nottinghamshire Police said emergency services were called to Chilwell Lane, in Bramcote, at 10:10 BST on Sunday following reports of the crash between an electric bike and two cars.

The boy, who was riding the bike, was pronounced dead at the scene, the force added.

A 30-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, has been bailed as inquiries continue.

Det Sgt Charlotte Henson said: "Our thoughts are with this boy's family, friends and loved ones as we continue to investigate the circumstances of this tragic incident.

"His family have asked for privacy at this extremely difficult time.

"As part of our inquiries we are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to please come forward.

"We'd like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage or who saw the vehicles involved, particularly the distinctive black and yellow bike which was in company with a pedal cycle, and also a silver car which were heading in the same direction, in the moments before the collision."
