Sweet-toothed chocolate and cheese thieves caught

Chocolate, cheese and various other items were found when police pulled over a car

Suspected thieves with a sweet tooth were detained after police found a hoard of chocolate and cheese in a car.
A vehicle was pulled over by Cambridgeshire Police at Towerfields Leisure Park in Huntingdon on Thursday, after the car triggered an ANPR licence plate alert.
Officers found 135 bars and boxes of chocolates together with a quantity of Laughing Cow and Philadelphia cream cheese, Pot Noodles and clothing.
A couple from Birmingham were arrested and charged with carrying out the thefts from a shop in King's Lynn in Norfolk.
Writing about the haul on Facebook, external, Cambridgeshire Police said: "When a vehicle triggered our ANPR system linked to suspected shoplifters travelling through the county, our eagle-eyed neighbourhood officers sprang into action.
"They quickly caught up with the car — and inside were a husband and wife duo, along with a rather unusual haul".

Thirty-nine bars of Cadbury Dairy Milk
Six bars of Cadbury Whole Nut
Fifty-nine bars of Galaxy
Twenty-seven boxes of Ferrero Rocher
Four Toblerones
Seven boxes of Fairy washing tablets
Three Laughing Cow cheeses
Three tubs of Philadelphia cream cheese
Pot Noodles
Assorted clothing
And one de-tagging device
