Two men sought over shooting outside pub

An assault happened outside the Dunkirk Hall pub in Leyland prior to the shooting on Friday

Police are looking for two men after four people were injured in a shooting outside a pub.

Armed officers were called to Dunkirk Hall pub in Leyland, shortly before 22:30 BST on Friday to reports of a shotgun being discharged, Lancashire Police said.

Two men, one aged in his 20s and another in his 40s, and two women, one in her 50s and another in her 20s, suffered minor injuries.

The force said the two men they are looking for were wearing black face coverings at the time of the shooting. It added it has since arrested a man over an earlier assault, also outside the pub, and was looking into whether the incident is linked to the shooting.

Police said following extensive enquiries, the force has identified an earlier assault at the same location - outside The Dunkirk Hall on Dunkirk Lane - and arrested a 30-year-old man from Chorley on suspicion of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm.

An investigation is underway and enquiries are "ongoing" to determine if these two incidents are linked, police said.

The force said the incidents are being treated as isolated incidents.

It added it has increased patrols in the area "as a precaution".
