Fans descend for Victorious Festival as gates open

Up to 80,000 music lovers are descending on Portsmouth as Victorious Festival opens its gates.

Day one's line up includes Queens of the Stone Age, Kaiser Chiefs, Madness, the Charlatans and Ash.

As well as the big names appearing at Southsea Common, Victorious supports a number of local acts.

Music kicks off at the Seaside Stage at 10:30 BST on Friday with alt-rockers Reign.

Portsmouth indie four-piece Four Folds Law, who are also playing on Friday, said they were "going out loud", after announcing Victorious Festival as their last ever gig after 10 years of performing.

Also on the bill are Kaiser Chiefs, Craig David, Daniel Bedingfield, Scouting for Girls, Shed Seven and Gabrielle.

Jasper Carrot has replaced Ruby Wax on the line up on Sunday. Masked Singer UK host Joel Dommett, Andrew Maxwell, Chris McCausland and musical comedian Jon Long are also appearing.

Festival organisers said some tickets were still available for the event which continues until Sunday.
