Manhunt under way as robber absconds from prison

The public has been warned to not approach Jamie Sherfield, who absconded from the open prison on the Suffolk coast

A manhunt is on after an inmate who was jailed for robbery and having a knife went on the run from an open prison.
Suffolk Police has warned people not to approach Jamie Sherfield after he absconded from Hollesley Bay prison near Woodbridge on Friday.
The 41-year-old, who was reported to be absent at a roll call, is serving a four-year sentence for robbery and possession of a knife.
Sherfield is described as white, 6ft 2in tall, of medium build, with grey hair, a full beard and blue eyes. He also has a tattoo of "JIMBOY" on his hand.
He was last seen wearing a blue Hugo Boss jumper, a purple Ralph Lauren polo shirt, blue jeans, black Nike trainers and a black Sekonda sports watch.
A police spokesperson said: "Members of the public are advised not to approach him and should call police on 999 immediately if they see him.
"Anyone who has any information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to contact Suffolk Police on 101."
